Charlie Baer has successful hunting season after using Scent Assassin products
Going into the 2022-2023 hunting season, I never had very much
confidence in scent elimination products. I had too many occasions when I
trusted a product and ended up eating tag soup! After a couple of years of
trying to hunt the wind and use thermals, I was limiting my time in the
woods. After following a new friend on social media, I noticed he was ALL
IN on this product we know as Scent Assassin and he got me curious! With
season quickly approaching I found myself in the same position with limited
time to find a way in the woods, so I knew adjustments were a must! I
decided to try the Scent Assassin Unscented during camera hanging and
scouting trips, and first noticed a ton more camera action picking up on my
mock scrapes and trail crossings. Fast forward a couple of months to the
first 3 weeks of archery season in Pennsylvania: zero hunts were busted
while hunting some rather questionable locations as well as varying winds.
On October 26th, in an attempt to move in on a shooter buck, I knew I
would be putting myself at risk going into this particular creek bottom.
Before heading in I made sure to spray down with my Scent Assassin
Unscented Sniper Cell Technology, and having washed all of my gear in
Scent Assassin detergent, I knew I could go into the woods with
confidence! A slow start to the sit turned quite eventful once the
temperature dropped and winds shifted with a big front moving into the
region. Before I knew it I had a shooter buck appear with a handful of does
to my northwest. As they were feeding in front of my set up with the wind in
my face I hear a branch break behind me, from my downwind side a 140+
inch buck steps out. He in turn runs off the smaller buck and circles my set
up as I go undetected while he searches for any other contenders. Once he
settled down and went back to the does he presented me with a 35 yard
shot. With the cover and protection of my Scent Assassin system and a
little bit of luck I was able to harvest my biggest Pennsylvania whitetail to
date!
